Hourly Pay Calculator

Project annual income from hourly wages with overtime, shift differential, bonuses, and tips across multiple employers.

Video walkthrough (3:04) with on-screen captions. Use a step’s Watch button to jump to that part.

Overview

Builds a projected annual income from wage components (hourly rate, scheduled hours, overtime, shift differential, bonuses, and tips) rather than from existing stubs. It is ideal for use with an employment verification, which you can upload for AI extraction.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Upload a verification

Click Upload Verification for Analysis and drop in the VOE PDF (up to 10 MB and 10 pages). Confirm the analysis; each upload uses one of your weekly AI analyses.

2

Review what was read

The employer gets its own tab with the wage fields filled in. Check every value against the verification; Employment Verification Details keeps the rest of what was read.

3

Enter base pay & overtime

Enter the Hourly Rate, Regular Hours / Week, and Weeks / Year, then Avg OT Hours / Week. The Overtime Rate defaults to 1.5× the hourly rate; a custom rate shows a reset button.

4

Add differential, bonus & tips

Enter any shift Differential Rate and Hours / Week, then the Expected Bonus and Tips / Commission with frequencies that match how the verification reports them.

5

Schedule a pay rate change

For a raise on the way, open Scheduled Pay Rate Change and set the Certification Effective Date, the Rate Change Effective Date, the change type, and the amount. Each period is then projected at its own rate.

6

Add another employer

Type the employer name and click Add Employer. Each job gets its own tab and its own wage fields.

7

Read the results

Total Annual adds up every employer; Monthly is the total ÷ 12. Calculation Details shows each component, both rate periods, each employer’s total, and the Combined Totals.

8

Print, save, or start over

Print opens a worksheet for the file. Subscribers can Save to Household. Click × on a tab to remove an employer, or Clear All to start over.

What You’ll See

Results show Total Annual (all employers combined), Monthly, and Weekly figures, with a per-component Calculation Details breakdown including any rate-change proration. A Print button produces a printable worksheet.

Tips

  • Overtime Rate auto-defaults to 1.5× the base rate and recalculates as you change base pay.
  • Bonus and tips each have their own frequency multipliers; match them to how the verification reports them.
  • A scheduled raise needs both the certification date and the rate-change date set to apply.
  • Uploads count against your weekly analysis limit; always review the extracted values.
  • Use the Salary Calculator instead for salaried (fixed-per-period) pay.
